Hand Washing Dos And Donts
Importance of Handwashing
Handwashing is not a habit; it is a lifestyle choice. For people, washing hands might not be as important as some other hygiene habits, but if incorporated into your daily life, it can be extremely rewarding as a practice. A simple habit can cure you of a range of infections like Hepatitis A, diarrhea, common cold and other infectious diseases.
Check out the right process for washing your hands:
- Wet hands with clean and warm running water
- Apply a small amount of soap
- Rub your palms together, away from the water
- Rub your fingers and thumbs and the skin in between them
- Scour your palms with your nails
- Rub the back of each hand
- Rinse with clean running water
- Dry with a clean towel or paper towel
You can use the mild, sweet-scented Dettol Liquid Handwash for a thorough cleaning and make sure that your hands stay 100% safe
Important Do’s and Don’ts
- Always wash your hand thoroughly under running water, be it warm or cold. But take care not to overdo as that might rob the moisture off them
- Always use a mild soap or hand wash and gently rub your palm together for at least 20 secs to work up a lather
- Make sure to cover all the surfaces evenly, from the fingertips to the wrist, on the back and palms
- Don’t use ordinary soap to wash your hands. Always use an antibacterial soap or hand wash like Dettol to make it more effective. Keeping a sanitizer handy is also a good idea
- It is always better to use hand wash instead of soap for washing your hands. This will in turn make sure that you do not use a soap that has been contaminated by bacteria from the previous user. Dettol no-touch system is perfect for use in this case
